WANT EVEN MORE HEALTHY IDEAS FROM SHAPE YOUR FUTURE?
OKLAHOMA CITY, August 30, 2017 – With the start of the busy school season, Oklahomans are encouraged to keep healthy living top of mind with Healthy Adventures from the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) and Shape Your Future.
Shape Your Future Healthy Adventures consist of free monthly themes that include interactive and family friendly recipes, suggestions for fun physical activity, games and more. By providing a variety of themes throughout the school year, Oklahomans can choose to complete the Healthy Adventure series in its entirety, or pick and choose months to participate based on theme, recipe or activity. Month-long themes include topics such as Pirate, Space, Super Hero and Cowboy.
“At our core, Shape Your Future aims to improve the overall health of Oklahomans by encouraging people to eat better, move more and be tobacco free,” said John Woods, executive director, TSET. “The Healthy Adventure series puts those values into play, helping remind families that even small steps can add up to become healthier.”
The activities for each themed month are easy-to-follow, and only require items that are frequently found at home. Recipes, such as Constellation Blueberries, Big Top Breakfast Quesadillas, Taquito Roundups and Teddy Toast are both easy-to-follow and kid-friendly.
“As a busy mom of three, I’m always looking for fun, affordable activities to keep my children busy,” said Baylea Quezada, of Norman. “The Shape Your Future Healthy Adventure series is perfect for our family because the activities appeal to all of my kids, despite their differences in age. The themes provide the perfect opportunity to spark creativity and keep my kids active.”
This fall, adventure awaits! Details, activities and more for each theme can be found here.
