WHAT WE’VE DONE

Through educational campaigns, community events and more, Shape Your Future is making an impact on the health — and futures — of thousands of Oklahomans. Take a look at some of our recent accomplishments.

“BARRIERS” MEDIA CAMPAIGN

These messages strive to meet Oklahomans where they are — especially those who feel like a healthier lifestyle is unattainable. Through a series of approachable videos and accompanying resources, this campaign aims to address three common barriers to healthy living: time, budget and access to resources like gyms, parks, trails and grocery stores. Ultimately, they remind viewers that healthy habits are within reach!

“MASCOTS” MEDIA CAMPAIGN

This attention-grabbing campaign puts a fresh spin on four classic Shape Your Future messages in a memorable way. The video series and supporting assets feature two iconic Oklahoma mascots, Boomer and Pistol Pete, in co-starring roles. Each video takes a humorous yet educational approach to promote different pillars of healthy living: physical activity, healthy eating, drinking water or getting adequate sleep.

“POWER OF ONE” MEDIA CAMPAIGN

Launched in August 2020, the “Power of One” campaign highlights the way forming small, healthy habits builds a healthier lifestyle over time. It invites viewers to choose healthier foods, drink water over sugar-sweetened beverages, get more physical activity and prioritize sleep.

EAT BETTER, MOVE MORE MESSAGES

Our Eat Better, Move More messages aim to reduce obesity in Oklahoma by showing people different ways to eat better and move more. We provided a range of quick, healthy and achievable ideas to eat more fruits and vegetables and get 30 minutes of physical activity (and 60 for kids!) each day.

RETHINK YOUR DRINK MESSAGES

Our Rethink Your Drink messages aim to reduce high obesity rates through two simple steps: increasing awareness of the amounts of sugar in sweetened beverages and highlighting the benefits of drinking water.

HEALTHY HABITS FRUIT, VEGGIE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY MESSAGES

With the help of cute characters, we encouraged parents to help their kids get 60 minutes of physical activity and fill half their plates with fruits and veggies every day. The characters offer support and tips in a fun and simple way. Plus, they remind parents and caregivers that the healthy habits kids form today will follow them for life.

TELESTRATOR MESSAGES

We encouraged Oklahomans to implement healthy behaviors into their daily routines with a variety of quick, easy tips. Our videos showed how simple actions like taking the stairs or choosing fruit for a snack can add up to help improve your health. Sports announcers narrated each spot, and “telestrator” animations onscreen highlighted the healthy actions taking place.
