  • 2 tablespoons milled flax seed (flax meal)
  • 2/3 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 15-ounce can low salt black beans, drained, rinsed and well mashed
  • DRY INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/3 cups oat flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar – white, brown, coconut, or your choice of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, plus more for garnish
